Knicks' NBA title odds surge following trade-deadline moves

It's almost inarguable that the New York Knicks won this year's NBA trade deadline day. The Leon Rose-led front office bolstered their already deep roster with the acquisitions of Alec Burks and Bojan Bogdanovic, both of whom are shooting over 40 percent from deep this season.

In the process, the Knicks became the only team in the league with three 20-plus PPG scorers on the roster -- Bogdanovic (20.2), Jalen Brunson (27.2) and Julius Randle (24.0) -- to go with a host of solid contributors such as OG Anunoby (15.3), Donte DiVincenzo (13.5), Burks (12.6), Josh Hart (7.8) and Isaiah Hartenstein (7.1). Critically, nearly every member of the roster is adept on the defensive side of the ball -- an incredible advantage even before the return of defensive anchor Mitchell Robinson.

Besides fans and analysts, even the oddsmakers in Las Vegas are high on the Knicks making a deep postseason run this year. According to DraftKings Sportsbook, the Knicks' title odds jumped from +2500 to +2000 after their deadline moves, and it now has the seventh-shortest odds to capture the NBA Championship, behind the Celtics (+265), Nuggets (+425), Clippers (+550), Bucks (+600), Suns (+1200) and Sixers (+1800).

Other sportsbooks such as FanDuel and BETMGM are even more optimistic, giving New York the sixth-shortest odds to hoist the Larry O'Brien Trophy above Philadelphia and slightly behind Phoenix.

While the red-hot Knicks have won eight of their last 10 games, they are positioned to end the season on an even higher note upon the returns of Randle, Anunoby and Robinson from injuries. The fourth-seeded Knicks (33-19) are just two games behind the Cavaliers (34-16) for the second seed.
