Jay Williams blames hacker for tweet regarding new Celtics coach

If bad tweets are part of sports, Jay Williams isn't having any part of it. At least, he isn't taking the fall for it.

The ESPN analyst took to Twitter to say he was recently hacked and not responsible for posts regarding the Boston Celtics hiring Ime Udoka as their new head coach.

Williams' latest remarks follow a curious tweet he posted after it was confirmed Boston was hiring Udoka. In addition to complimenting the hire, Williams then added that Udoka is the "first head coach of color" to be hired by the Celtics.

In fact, Udoka is the sixth. Bill Russell was the first — in NBA history, for that matter — back in 1966.

Needless to say, it didn't take long for the tweet to draw negative attention from fans and basketball buffs alike. Even players themselves weighed in on the tweet.

It is anyone's guess whether Williams was actually hacked. Either way, it may take a little time for him to live this Twitter gaffe down.
