Jalen Green Powers Houston Rockets Past Oklahoma City Thunder With Insane Jason Kidd-esque Explosion
Alonzo Adams-USA TODAY Sports

If you’re looking for a big reason behind the incredible run the Houston Rockets are having, then there’s no reason to miss the name — and the numbers — Jalen Green has been generating over the last several games.

Green powered the Rockets once again Wednesday night with a stellar performance on offense that further proves that he is finally coming into his own in the pros. Green skewered the Oklahoma City Thunder’s defense for 37 points on 14/24 shooting from the field and had 19 rebounds and seven assists in a 132-126 Rockets victory — the team’s 10th victory in a row.

Jalen Green, Rockets Keep on Rolling

The Rockets have risen from the dead. Thanks to their win streak, the Rockets are now just a game out of the Play-in Tournament window in the Western Conference.

The Golden State Warriors are in front of them in the standings, but with several games remaining on both teams’ schedules, Houston clearly has plenty of opportunities to further gain ground and perhaps overtake the Warriors (or even the Los Angeles Lakers).

During the Rockets’ 10-game undefeated run, Green, who was selected by Houston in the first round (second overall) of the 2021 NBA Draft, put up a sizzling average of 29.8 points on 51.0 percent shooting from the field.  Green has struggled with shooting efficiency for the most part of his career, so it’s a very much welcome for the Rockets to see the still-improving youngster shoot a whole lot better lately.

The Rockets can extend their streak to 11 games this Friday against the Utah Jazz in Salt Lake City.
