Glen Davis sentenced to 3.5 years in prison

Former Boston Celtics forward Glen "Big Baby" Davis has been sentenced to 40 months in prison for his "conviction in an alleged scheme to defraud the league's health care benefits plan."

Twenty-two people -- 18 of them former players, including Terrence Williams and Keyon Dooling -- have been sentenced in the case for filing false medical claims with the NBA Players' Health and Benefit Welfare Plan.

In court, assistant U.S. attorney Ryan Finkel characterized Davis as having allegedly executed a "sophisticated and intelligent effort" to mask his misdeeds.

Davis' 40 month sentence is the second most punitive levied out trailing only Terrence Williams' 10 year one. Davis won an NBA championship as a rookie on the 2007-08 team and was a key member of the rotation two years later when the Celtics made it back to the NBA Finals in 2010.
