Former LA Clippers Player Joins Toronto Raptors

It was reported on Saturday by ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski that free agent forward Justise Winslow had agreed to a 10-day contract with the Toronto Raptors. 

Winslow last played in the NBA for the Portland Trail Blazers, appearing in 40 games for them the last two seasons after being acquired from the LA Clippers in the trade that sent Norman Powell and Robert Covington to LA.

Drafted 10th overall by the Miami Heat in 2015, Winslow never became the player he was projected to become as a lottery pick, but has been a solid rotation piece for some good teams.

Winslow's best season came in 2018-19 when he played 66 games for the Miami Heat, starting 52 of them. Averaging a career-high 12.6 PPG that year, Winslow also added 5.4 RPG and 4.3 APG in 29.7 minutes per contest.

Injuries certainly contributed to Winslow never getting back to the level he was at in that 2018-19 campaign, but he has still shown some flashes at times in the last few seasons. Perhaps this opportunity with the Raptors can help Winslow get back into a more permanent NBA situation, as this 10-day could be a great opportunity to show what he is still capable of.

The Raptors are well out of a playoff spot, so taking a look at a guy like Winslow, who has been with their G-League team, cannot hurt.
