Former Indiana Pacers guard Gabe York is now with the G League Ignite. He signed with the team a few weeks ago after not being with any club for a few months.

York spent the late parts of the most recent two NBA seasons with the Pacers. He earned a call-up both years on a two-way contract, and he appeared in five total NBA games, where he averaged 6.4 points and 1.8 assists per game.

He primarily spent his time in Indiana's organization with their G League affiliate team, the then-Fort Wayne Mad Ants. He averaged 22.1 points per game in 47 appearances for the Mad Ants last season and shot the ball well from deep. His strong play included three G League Player of the Week honors.

After not latching on with the Pacers, or anywhere, for the first portion of the NBA season, York opted to join the Ignite. He played in TBT last summer.

The Ignite, led by General Manager Anthony McClish, waived center Eric Mika to bring in York. So far, the former Pacers guard is averaging 15 points per game for the G League outfit that is based in Las Vegas.

York played against the Mad Ants twice last week, where he scored a season-high 45 points and followed it up with 26. That ballooned his season averages significantly.

"The Pacers giving me back to back two-ways just gave me more confidence and solidified the fact that I belong in the NBA," York told AllPacers last season. "I got a chance to play at the highest level and I'm thankful and blessed for that, but they didn't give me an opportunity to make the team or be a part of something special and that's what I'm looking for still."

The Pacers didn't have room for York, and now he's outside the organization. He was recently in a documentary about G League players and their day-to-day pursuit of making an NBA roster. The Ignite next play tomorrow when they host the South Bay Lakers.
