Former Hawks And Magic NBA Player Retires

Josh Magette most recently played in the NBA during the 2019-20 season when he was a member of the Orlando Magic. 

The 33-year-old has spent the previous few seasons playing overseas, and last year, he averaged 10.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 2.0 steals per contest while shooting 35.5% from the field in 28 games for the Tasmania JackJumpers. 

Recently, Magette announced his retirement from basketball (h/t Alberto De Roa of HoopsHype). 

Magette: "Basketball has been so good to me and taken me places I never thought were reachable. I am lucky to have been surrounded by so many great people along this journey. I will be forever grateful for all of the coaches, teammates and relationships built all over the world. I was blessed enough to play 11 years professionally which is 11 more than I ever thought I would. I will always cherish the memories created on and off the court. I know that I will miss the basketball court like crazy but am beyond excited for the next chapter!"
