Former Hawks And Magic NBA Player Retires
USA TODAY Sports

Josh Magette most recently played in the NBA during the 2019-20 season when he was a member of the Orlando Magic

The 33-year-old has spent the previous few seasons playing overseas, and last year, he averaged 10.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 2.0 steals per contest while shooting 35.5% from the field in 28 games for the Tasmania JackJumpers

Recently, Magette announced his retirement from basketball (h/t Alberto De Roa of HoopsHype).

Magette: "Basketball has been so good to me and taken me places I never thought were reachable. I am lucky to have been surrounded by so many great people along this journey. I will be forever grateful for all of the coaches, teammates and relationships built all over the world. I was blessed enough to play 11 years professionally which is 11 more than I ever thought I would. I will always cherish the memories created on and off the court. I know that I will miss the basketball court like crazy but am beyond excited for the next chapter!"

Magette initially went undrafted in 2012 and made his NBA debut with the Atlanta Hawks in 2017-18.

Over two seasons in the league (with the Hawks and Magic), he has career averages of 2.2 points, 1.0 rebounds and 2.4 assists per contest while shooting 32.8% from the field and 34.6% from the three-point range in 26 games.

In addition, he has spent time in the G League and appeared in 210 regular season games (and 17 playoff games).
