After 15 NBA seasons, Goran Dragic is calling it a career. Dragic was best known for his time with the Miami Heat from 2015 to 2021, but he also played for the Brooklyn Nets, Chicago Bulls, Houston Rockets, Milwaukee Bucks, Phoenix Suns, and Toronto Raptors.
Throughout his career, Dragic averaged a respectable 13.3 points, 4.7 assists, and 3.0 rebounds per game. His accolades include one All-Star appearance (2018) and NBA Most Improved Player (2014) and All-NBA Third Team (2014) honors. Dragic also enjoyed a decorated international playing career as he represented his home country of Slovenia. He helped lead the Slovenians to a gold medal in the 2017 FIBA EuroBasket Tournament, where he won MVP honors.
Bulls fans were introduced to a young Goran Dragic back when Derrick Rose made one of his most memorable highlights by posterizing the then-Suns guard. Dragic shared a laugh about the moment in his media day session ahead of the 2022-23 season.
Brought in to provide veteran stability on the perimeter, Dragic appeared in 51 games for the Bulls and averaged 6.4 points, 2.7 assists, and 1.4 rebounds per game. In Lonzo Ball's absence, he helped guide a Bulls' backcourt that consisted of Alex Caruso and youngsters Coby White and Ayo Dosunmu.
However, once the Bulls signed Patrick Beverly, it was clear that the aging Dragic had his time up in Chicago. Chicago waived Dragic on Feb. 28, 2023.
