East Notes: Sixers, Kelly Oubre, Cavs, Koby Altman, Heat

76ers

• New signee Kelly Oubre is coming off a career year with the Hornets, but he’ll need to be even better to help the 76ers, wrote David Murphy of the Philadelphia Inquirer. Oubre received a one-year deal for the veteran’s minimum, sources told Hoops Wire.
• Sixers forward Danuel House indicated he supports star guard James Harden, who’s requested a trade. “JH is a man, at the end of the day. I’m a man,” House said, via Gina Mizell of the Inquirer. “I respect any decision that he does. Everything that’s going on, [I] don’t know.”

Cavaliers

• The Cavs have yet to release further statement on president of basketball operations Koby Altman, arrested and charged with an OVI last weekend. Altman’s first court appearance took place Tuesday morning, as we relayed here.
• Police body-cam footage from Altman’s arrest was first broadcast by WJW Fox 8 in Cleveland. It has since begun to make the rounds on social media.

Heat

Trade talks between the Heat and Trail Blazers centered on star guard Damian Lillard remain at a standstill with camp looming, per Brian Windhorst of ESPN.

“The concept is that (the Blazers) want the Heat to literally scrounge into every nook and cranny and produce everything they possibly can,” Windhorst said on The Hoop Collective podcast. “And the Heat don’t feel the need to do that, and they haven’t since June.”

• The Blazers seemingly don’t want Heat guard Tyler Herro as part of the return for Lillard, a stance that doesn’t make much sense, per Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. Minus Lillard, Herro could be the best player on Portland’s roster, Winderman argued.
