Domantas Sabonis on the 2024 NCAA Tournament: 'I want to see my Zags go all the way'
USA TODAY Sports

Domantas Sabonis knows what it's like being an underdog in the NCAA Tournament.

Before he was an All-NBA forward with the Sacramento Kings, Sabonis was a key cog in guiding the Gonzaga Bulldogs to back-to-back Sweet 16s in 2015 and 2016. The 6-foot-10 Lithuanian was named to the NCAA's All-Region team after averaging 19.7 points, 14.3 rebounds and 2.7 blocks across three games for 11-seed Gonzaga in 2016, which included upsets over 6-seed Seton Hall and 3-seed Utah.

Sabonis and company's improbable run to the Sweet 16 that season began one of the most impressive streaks in the sport, as the Zags have been to the second weekend of the NCAA Tournament ever since.

Now, Sabonis wants to see this year's Gonzaga team pull off a run of its own.

Sabonis joined Gonzaga Nation to discuss what he's seen from the 2023-24 Bulldogs, what it's like competing against other Zags in the NBA and why he won't answer Mark Few's text messages, on a new Gonzaga Nation episode.
