Originally drafted by the San Antonio Spurs in the 2016 NFL NBA Draft, Murray started his professional career with the franchise. He would spend six seasons with the franchise before being traded to the Atlanta Hawks in June 2022.

Dejounte Murray is now in the final season of his four-year contract worth $64,000,000 that he signed with the San Antonio Spurs in October 2019. The deal came with a $64,000,000 guaranteed signing fee and an average salary of $16,000,000 per year.

For the 2023-24 season, Murray will be earning a base salary worth $17,714,000 with a cap hit of 18,214,000 and a dead cap set at 17,714,000. Dejounte Murray can earn up to $1,000,000 in incentives, with $500,000 based on performance, and $500,000 more if he makes the NBA All-Defense selection per Spotrac.
