D'Angelo Russell Unpacks Bleak Reality For Lakers Season

The Los Angeles Lakers are in a bit of a rut right now. They've lost their last two games and are currently in tenth place in the Western Conference. 

The Lakers are a full three games and then some behind the sixth seed in the Western Conference. They don't have the edge on any of the teams in front of them, so it will take a miracle to get out of the play-in tournament. All signs point to the Lakers fighting for their life in a single elimination game; however, they are not giving up hope just yet. 

Lakers guard D'Angelo Russell spoke to the media after losing to the Golden State Warriors, including ESPN's Dave McMenamin. Russell said it'll take everything he and his team have to do the impossible. 

"It's going to take everything to scrape out some wins," Lakers guard D'Angelo Russell (23 points, 13 assists) said. "At this time of the year, they all matter."

It was a very frustrating loss for the purple and gold on Saturday, and it will cost them when the season is over and done with. Only 14 games remain in this very confusing, frustrating, and injury-riddled season. 

The tough part of their schedule is over and done with (kind of), but if we're being honest, nothing is ever easy for Los Angeles. 

The Lakers are still missing many of their key players due to injury, and the status of superstar Anthony Davis is uncertain, at least against the Atlanta Hawks on Monday.

LA will look to end their two-game skid and pull the impossible starting on Monday night. Will they be up for the challenge? Don't count on it, folks.
