Celtics G Jaylen Brown (ankle) out vs. Wizards
Bob DeChiara-USA TODAY Sports

The Boston Celtics ruled out guard Jaylen Brown for Sunday's road game against the Washington Wizards due to a right ankle sprain.

Brown didn't look the worse for wear on Thursday after scoring 37 points in Boston's 127-112 victory over the Phoenix Suns.

Brown, 27, is averaging 28.9 points per game since the All-Star break. All told, he is contributing 23.1 points, 5.6 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 60 games (all starts) this season for the Celtics (52-14).

Forward Jayson Tatum, who has team-best averages in points (27.0) and rebounds (8.3) per game this season, is available to play in Sunday's contest despite nursing a right ankle injury.

Center Kristaps Porzingis will sit out on Sunday while dealing with a right hamstring strain. He is contributing 20.4 points, 7.0 boards and 2.0 assists in 46 games (all starts) this season.
