The Cleveland Cavaliers won’t re-sign veteran point guard Quinn Cook following the expiration of his second 10-day contract, according to Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com.

Cook, 28, is 6-foot-1 and is averaging 6.1 points and 1.9 assists in seven appearances with the Cavs. He is coming off a championship with LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers last season.

But the Cavs had to make a decision on Cook, as teams either have to sign a player for the rest of the season or cut him loose following the expiration of a second 10-day contract.

The Cavs are choosing the latter, likely in pursuit of other free agent options. Thursday’s season debut of veteran point guard Matthew Dellavedova likely played a role in the Cavs’ decision on Cook.

Cleveland’s roster now stands at 13.
