Bulls Star Gets Candid About Future
USA Today Sports

The Chicago Bulls have crashed out of the 2023-24 season after a 112-91 loss at the hands of the Miami Heat. Bulls star DeMar DeRozan shared some candid words on his future after the disappointing game and whether he has chosen to move elsewhere come free agency.

Bulls Star Gets Candid About Future

During the post-game presser, DeRozan was showered with a handful of questions on his team’s performance, and also about his future in Chicago. The player addressed the fact that he is about to enter his 16th year in the league and he would like to make his decision with a winner’s mindset.

Arguably the biggest star on the roster and a leader in the locker room, Deebo is one of the most beloved icons among the Bulls faithful. He has previously voiced his desire to stay in Chicago and reiterated the same during the interview. However, it seems DeRozan will make his decision after considering the ins and outs of the Bulls roster and how the front office goes about bringing reinforcements for the new season.

Throughout the 2023-24 season, DeMar DeRozan has displayed his enduring talent with impressive statistics. Averaging 24.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game, DeRozan has been a consistent force on both ends of the court. With 1.1 steals per game and an impressive 58.4% true shooting percentage (TS%), he has been making the decisive plays day in and day out for the Bulls. In fact, he has logged the most minutes of any player in a single season during the 2020s, totaling an incredible 2,989 minutes on the court.

But it is very important to note that the next season is about to be one of DeRozan’s last few, given he is already 34 years old. From what the Bulls star said in their last post-game interview of the season, it seems he does not look forward to having a LeBron James’-like career, at least not in terms of longevity. Whatever he decides, will be one ‘long’ summer for DeMar DeRozan and the Bulls.
