Boston Celtics: Jaylen Brown Reveals 1 Regret In 121-99 Win Vs. Portland Trail Blazers
Troy Wayrynen-USA TODAY Sports

All things considered, the Boston Celtics had a very good Monday night, as they demolished the Portland Trail Blazers on the road, 121-99. However, Celtic star forward Jaylen Brown was not completely happy, at least from an individual standpoint.

Jaylen Brown Regrets Not Taking More Shots In The Paint In The Boston Celtics’ Win Against The Blazers

Although Brown led all scorers in the game with 27 points, he was inefficient from the floor, going just 8/12 on his attempts. He was especially bad from behind the arc, with Brown knocking down just one of his eight tries from deep.

Via Jay King of The Athletic:

Jaylen Brown felt like he settled way too much 3-pointers tonight.

“I shot (eight) threes. I didn’t have to shoot none of those. I could have got to the paint, maybe found one of my teammates or whatever. If they’re open you shoot them but for the most part my job is to get to the paint and that opens up the game for everybody else.”

If it weren’t for Brown’s terrible outside shooting, the Celtics would have finished the contest with shinier shooting splits. Nevertheless, their 49.0 percent shooting from the floor and 37.5 3-point shooting percentage were enough to get past the lowly Trail Blazers.

Even though Brown shot badly from long distance and did not attack the basket as much as he wanted, the Celtics still ended up with a huge margin in terms of points scored in the shaded area, 60-44.

Someone who had a fantastic performance from the 3-point region in that game was Sam Hauser, who buried six triples on 10 attempts.

Brown, who is shooting just 34.9 percent from deep in the 2023-24 NBA regular season, can atone fo his poor outside shooting in the Portland game this Tuesday when the Boston Celtics play the Utah Jazz on the road.
