Atlanta Hawks Sign Elite College 3-Point Shooter
USA TODAY Sports

David Singleton is coming off a year where he played in 37 games (16 starts) for UCLA.

He averaged 9.0 points, 2.8 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 1.1 steals per contest while shooting 42.7% from the field and 42.4% from the three-point range.

The 24-year-old went undrafted this summer, but he has now signed a deal with the Atlanta Hawks (h/t Lauren L. Williams of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution).

Via Hawks PR: The Atlanta Hawks signed guard David Singleton, the team announced today. Per team policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed."

The deal is likely for training camp, so it's very possible that he will play for the College Park Skyhawks after he gets waived.

Singleton played five seasons of college basketball for UCLA and was very impressive three-point shooter.

He shot over 42% from the three-point range in four out of his five seasons.

His career averages were 5.7 points and 1.8 rebounds per contest while shooting 43.0% from the field and 43.4% from the three-point range in 164 games.

During the 2021 season, Singleton helped UCLA make the Final 4.

As for the Hawks, they are coming off a year where they were 41-41 and went into the NBA playoffs as the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference (after beating the Miami Heat in the play-in tournament).

They lost to Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics in the first round (in six games).

The franchise has made the NBA playoffs for three straight seasons (and the Eastern Conference Finals in 2021).
