Anthony Gill re-signing with Wizards on two-year deal
Washington Wizards forward Anthony Gill Scott Taetsch-USA TODAY Sports

The Washington Wizards continue to keep their in-house talent. Forward Anthony Gill is re-signing with the Wizards on a two-year deal, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Financial terms of the deal have yet to be disclosed.

Gill has played the past two seasons with the Wizards. Last season, he played in 44 games, averaging 4.1 points and 1.9 rebounds in 10.5 minutes per contest. He shot 56.9% from the field and made 14-of-26 three pointers.

While his time on the court has been limited, his production has been solid. He averaged 14.0 points and 6.6 rebounds per 36 minutes last season.

Gill played collegiately nearby at the University of Virginia. After going undrafted in 2016, he played professionally overseas. The Wizards signed him in November 2020, and he has latched on ever since.

He’ll provide frontcourt depth. At 6-foot-7, Gill is interchangeable as a stretch-4 and small-ball center. He can play down low, crash the boards and space the floor with his shooting. His skill set fits nicely when the Wizards play small.

Gill is the second in-house contract agreement for the Wizards. Three-time All-Star Bradley Beal reportedly agreed to a five-year, $251 million supermax deal at the start of Thursday’s free-agency period.
