Anthony Davis Delivers Frustrated 5-Word Explanation on Los Angeles Lakers’ Game 2 Loss Before Walking Out
Stephen Lew-USA TODAY Sports

After losing Game 1, Anthony Davis and the Los Angeles Lakers were ready to face the Denver Nuggets and even the series. But thanks to a timely game-winning shot by Jamal Murray, the Purple and Gold found themselves in a deeper hole than before.

In that particular game, the Nuggets went home with the 101-99 win over the Lakers. Two-time MVP Nikola Jokic was in his bag all night long when he dropped 27 points, 20 rebounds, and 10 assists. Michael Porter nailed 61 percent of his field goals to finish the game with 22 points. For his part, Murray ended the night with 20 points, including the game-winning shot that sent Los Angeles home with the loss.

The Lakers, on the other hand, had a monster performance from Davis when the All-Star big man tallied 32 points, 11 rebounds, and two assists. LeBron James posted 26 points and 12 assists, while D’Angelo Russell redeemed himself with 23 points on 50 percent shooting from the field, a far cry from his Game 1 performance.

While the Lakers tried their best to get the win, the LeBron James-led squad slacked off in the fourth quarter and squandered their 20-point lead. With the game on the line, Davis did his best to defend Murray’s shot but it went in, much to the joy of Nuggets fans watching. In the end, all the Lakers’ hard work went to nothing as Denver now holds a two-game lead over them.

Frustrated Anthony Davis Explains Los Angeles Lakers Game 2 Loss Against Denver Nuggets

After the game, Davis faced the media and tried to put into words how the Lakers lost. In a video posted by LakeShowYo on X, the All-Star forward gave a brief explanation, and quickly walked away:

Davis’ frustration is very understandable since they have gone through hell to get to the playoffs. Furthermore, they have now lost 10 straight games to the Nikola Jokic-led team following their most recent encounter in the playoffs.

With two losses, the Lakers will have to work twice as hard to make up for lost time. Otherwise, Davis and his teammates will find themselves going home sooner than they expected.
