Trackhouse Racing adds MotoGP team based out of Italy
? Dustin Safranek-USA TODAY Sports

Trackhouse Racing is expanding their reach beyond the NASCAR Cup Series, as they continue to make a name for themselves.

The organization has gone from a fledgeling team to one of the most popular in the Cup Series in just a couple of seasons. Now, they’re joining MotoGP — the premier motorcycle racing series in the world — continuing to build their brand.

“Trackhouse has expanded its motorsports program to include a MotoGP team next year,” FOX’s Bob Pockrass posted on X, formerly known as Twitter. “It will operate out of Noale, Italy, in an alliance with motorcycle manufacturer Aprilia and the Piaggio Group.”

Alas, Trackhouse will now be one of the 11 teams in the field, where each teams fields two riders each. Next season, the MotoGP slate includes 22 races in 19 countries across four continents. Beginning Mar. 10 in Qatar, Trackhouse will put their stamp on the sport.

Additionally, they’re the only American team in the MotoGP class, which is a huge boon for the organization, and could help their popularity soar.

Justin Marks — Trackhouse’s team owner — added a statement in a press release, explaining how big of a deal this is for him and the organization.

“This is a monumental moment for Trackhouse Entertainment Group,” Marks said, via press release. “It has been in the ethos of Trackhouse since the very first day to put in the work, have the vision, and deploy the enthusiasm and passion necessary to build one of the most valuable motorsports entertainment companies in the world.

“Our entry into the MotoGP World Championship is another step in the execution of that vision.”

Moreover, Marks believes that MotoGP has immense potential to grow in popularity, and he’s of the opinion that Trackhouse is getting in at the perfect time.

“We feel that MotoGP is perfectly positioned for massive growth in the coming years not only in the United States but internationally,” Marks added. “It has all the ingredients necessary to continue its rise to global prominence: a thrilling on-track product, aspirational stars, unmatched fan and partner experience, and an environment that’s fan-friendly and welcoming.”

We’ve seen other NASCAR Cup Series teams venture into other forms of racing with immense success, but it remains to be seen how Trackhouse does in MotoGP.

Nevertheless, it’s fascinating that the team is making the move, and they’ll bring plenty of eyes with them, especially if they can find immediate success, like they did in NASCAR.
