Motorsports editor Luke Krmpotich and NASCAR lead writer Sam Salo are wrapping up the task of evaluating last year’s performances by the major teams and drivers from the Sprint Cup garage. Today’s edition features the Fords of Roush Fenway Racing. Luke’s grade: A-  In 2012, Da Biff did just what he always does in even-numbered years: win exactly two races. Does Biffle get credit for success?

Is Greg Biffle underrated? For the last two seasons at Roush Fenway Racing, the veteran driver has faded into the landscape rather than receiving the accolades he or his No. 16 3M Ford team deserve. It has absolutely nothing to do with his performance. He led the points standings for 14 of the first 24 races last in 2012. Whether or not he is underrated has nothing to do with...

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series concluded its three day test at the Daytona International Speedway today and saw a very beneficial six sessions. Calm Day 3 Concludes Daytona Testing

After day two’s carnage, day three was quite calm on the track. All cars made single car runs and finished off their checklists’. Most of the teams still in Daytona were frightened by the ten car wreck on Friday and didn’t draft at all today. Day three of Pre-Season Thunder will likely be the final quiet day in Daytona for the next month. The morning session featured all teams...

NASCAR News Makers for 2013

I am back again this week with another look at some drivers I expect to make news in 2013. First of all, I hope you got a chance to watch some of the Daytona testing on SPEED. I had to watch it all online since Comcast has unexpectedly pulled the plug on my SPEED channel – unless I cough up more money. I fear I will lose this battle. The cars look to be very fast in testing and...
