Clint Bowyer's Michael Waltrip Racing crew went on the offensive Sunday afternoon after an on-track clash between their driver and Jeff Gordon. The crew members erupted into a brawl in the Phoenix International Raceway garage area with members of Gordon's team. Monday afternoon, Michael Waltrip Racing issued a statement concerning the actions of Bowyer's team. "The goal of Michael Waltrip Racing is to be a championship-level organization both on and off the track. The on-track incident which occurred during Sunday's NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Phoenix International Raceway was extremely disappointing and brought raw emotions of a long and hard championship battle to the surface. Though we generally cannot control certain actions on the track, the unfortunate reactions off the track Sunday did not live up to the professional standards in which Michael Waltrip Racing expects all of its representatives to live by. We commit to our sponsors, our manufacturer, our fans and NASCAR that we will do so in the future."

Clint Bowyer and others thoughts on retaliation at Phoenix

Clint Bowyer went into Phoenix with a small chance of still being able to win the Sprint Cup Series Championship… but instead left being completely out of contention, -52 points behind leader Brad Keselowski in fourth place. Bowyer finished the race in 28th position. Jeff Gordon and Bowyer got into it during Sunday’s AdvoCare500 at Phoenix International Raceway on lap 305. No...

Fight Breaks Out Between Teams Of Clint Bowyer And Jeff Gordon At Phoenix

On Sunday, NASCAR stole some headlines from king football. With just two laps to go, Jeff Gordon intentionally took out Clint Bowyer. Bowyer was still in contention for the title and Gordon simply took him out. After this incident happened, things went absolutely batty. After the wreck, Bowyer’s crew went after Gordon’s crew in the [...]

Confrontation with Bowyer could wait

No matter what happens, you don't retaliate with race cars. I said it for years as a crew chief and now for 12 years as a broadcaster. Well, Sunday at Phoenix International Raceway, Jeff Gordon did just that. What started out as a personal vendetta against Clint Bowyer affected more than the two of them. I realize that was not the first incident between them when they initially...

Clint Bowyer scraped Jeff Gordon‘s car, and the four-time NASCAR champion was less than pleased. On the second-to-last lap, Gordon directed Bowyer towards the wall, resulting in a crash that caused the race to be finished under caution.  Kevin...

Clint Bowyer Brings New Meaning to “The Chase”

With just two races remaining in the NASCAR season and “The Chase,” NASCAR’s equivalent of their playoffs, these should be the fun times – the exciting times. Going into Chase race #9 at Phoenix International Raceway on Sunday, November 11 it certainly was shaping up as an epic season concluding nail-biter much like 2011. (Last…

Gordon, Dupont and HMS celebrate 20th Anniversary

This Thursday marks 20 years to the day when a bright new sponsor took a chance on a rookie driver with a newly formed Hendrick Motorsports team. And the rest, as they say, is history.   Jeff Gordon burst on the NASCAR Cup Series scene in a big way at the season-ending race at Atlanta Motor Speedway in 1992 with global Fortune 500 Company DuPont as a sponsor. The trademark DuPont...

The fight continues! The most chaotic NASCAR race of the year at Phoenix International Raceway spilled out into the Twitterverse on Sunday, as country music star Blake Shelton's dig on Jeff Gordon brought a swift comeback from Gordon's wife, model and actress Ingrid Vandebosch (though the tweet was apparently later deleted from her account). Blake Shelton ‏ @blakeshelton...

Jeff Gordon and Clint Bowyer’s pit crews fight after crash

Apparently Jeff Gordon had enough of Clint Boyer and intentionally wrecked the #15 car in the final laps of the Advocare 500. That led to this melee between the pit crews. Very reckless.

The AdvoCare500 at Phoenix International Raceway turned into a good old fashioned hockey game with Clint Bowyer's and Jeff Gordon's pit crews going at it. **Follow us on Twitter. Subscribe, or... Full story at Bob's Blitz ~ http://www.bobsblitz.com

NASCAR title fight proves literal

It was Jimmie Johnson who last week compared the final two weeks of this Chase of the Championship battle to bare-knuckle fighting. Unlikely the five-time champ will ever need a side job, but the Psychic Friends Network would be an option. How angry was everybody after Sunday’s penultimate race at Phoenix? Brad Keselowski let out an expletive-filled postrace rant on the lack of...
