Kyle Petty asserts NASCAR no longer has 'superstars' in the garage

So, how do you establish yourself as a superstar when you can only win two or three races a year. How can you establish yourself, separate yourself from the pack when you can only win four or five races. You’ve got to figure that out as a driver and I think NASCAR or the teams have to figure that out, how to create superstars. Kyle petty speaking on the Out of the Groove with Eric Estepp.

The 63-year-old also added how NASCAR currently has a lot of good drivers who don’t get their due, but he can’t find anyone who is a superstar. He pleaded drivers and NASCAR themselves to figure out a way to create superstars in NASCAR to bring more eyes to it.

Kyle Petty shares an insight into legendary NASCAR team Hendrick Motorsport

Hendrick Motorsports (HMS) has been one of the strongest and iconic NASCAR teams since 1984. The team has kept up with the moving times and just seems to maximize results throughout the decades, even at the recent race at Martinsville where they grabbed the top 3 in the end.

Kyle Petty was full of praise for the team after their brilliant Martinsville. Petty spoke about how HMS has won 14 championships and keeps getting better as time progresses.

For 40 years there’s been seven presidents! Since he [Rick Hendrick] won his first race to this last race, they’ve had 14 championships. That’s a walk-off, people. That’s a walk-off. That’s saying we’re here for the first 40. We’re going to be here for another 40. Count on us doing the same thing. Kyle Petty said.

The legendary driver emphasized how the team would’ve stopped in 1984 were it not for Rick Hendrick’s grit to keep things going. The 1-2-3 finish was HMS’s fourth such result in history and the first ever in Martinsville, and something they will surely hope to repeat during the next races.
