Justin Marks wins pole award, sets Trans Am Series track record at Road America

What a run Justin Marks has been on in the last couple of weeks in the Trans Am Series. He just took his second pole award in a row. It isn’t NASCAR, but it is impressive. Road America is the venue this weekend for the Trans Am Series. Trackhouse Racing co-owner Marks has been fantastic this season in the series.

Justin Marks will lead the field to green in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. After the practice session, Marks had some issues to deal with. However, his team got his car running right and he was excellent in qualifying.

Almost two seconds faster than P2, Marks showed out on the Road America course. It took him just 2:01.527 to get through the turns and twists. That is his fourth pole award of the season and is now the Trans Am Series track record at Road America.

“We had a long discussion today after practice about how to get where I needed to be for qualifying, and the car just did everything I wanted it to do,” Marks explained, via the Trans Am Series. “It stuck in the right places, and we were able to go out and do three good laps and park it, so I’m excited for tomorrow. The weekend started off pretty rough; I think we had a differential issue in the first test and we didn’t make any laps, then it was kind of a handful. We had to work really hard on it his weekend to get it going.”

This could be a big weekend for Justin Marks. He is looking to get the win at Road America as he leads the field from the pole.

Justin Marks looking to bounce back after Chicago

While the Xfinity Series race in Chicago didn’t run to completion, Justin Marks left disappointed. And it had nothing to do with the rain. During the race, Marks found himself in the Kaulig Racing No. 10 with a major issue.

After an excellent practice session in the Windy City, Marks was shaky in qualifying. He failed to make the final round and had to work his way up through the field. He was well on his way to doing that when he had a major mechanical failure.

Marks started to smoke and it was clear that his engine had blown up. He would end his race early, even earlier than the Xfinity race itself, which is saying something. While his Chicago dreams were crushed, Marks is back to business in the Trans Am Series.

Justin Marks could find himself in Victory Lane this weekend. Keep your eyes out for the Trackhouse Racing co-owner at Road America.
