Justin Marks happy to be ‘upsetting the model’ of NASCAR with Trackhouse Racing

There is no doubt that Justin Marks and Trackhouse Racing are doing things their own way in the sport of NASCAR. In fact, that’s how they planned it. When you see Trackhouse at the track, their hauler, their merch, their cars – all of it is new and modern. Their drivers don’t fit the usual mold, either.

Every week it seems Ross Chastain is in the headlines. At least, it was that way for most of the season. Daniel Suárez is a talent that has yet to see his full potential. Although, the Mexican driver is getting there with the support of Trackhouse and team owner Justin Marks.

Let’s not forget that the other team owner is a man known as Mr. Worldwide. International pop star Pitbull. The Cuban-American artist has taken a real interest in the team and the sport and it has paid dividends.

While talking to Forbes recently, Justin Marks was open about being that new up-and-coming team and the challenges that come with it.

“The biggest lesson and one that continues to happen is how to exist in this industry as a new team and as a challenger team,” Marks said. “We’re living around the reaction of the industry. There’s an element of the industry that doesn’t love it because we’re upsetting the traditional model. 23XI is doing the same thing. It’s been an interesting journey to see how the industry is reacting and then continuing to operate strategically in that environment.”

With Busch Light coming on board to sponsor Ross Chastain next year and the clear frontrunner for team of the future – Trackhouse Racing has a lot to look forward to.

Justin Marks has built an international organization

Of course, we can’t talk about the “upsetting the model” aspect of Trackhouse without talking about Shane van Gisbergen. Trackhouse and Justin Marks made the road course ringer a reality again! SVG is now making his way to NASCAR for 2024, although which team lands his services remains to be seen.

If Trackhouse is able to bring van Gisbergen to their organization in a third car, it will be remarkable. You can count on him getting into the playoffs simply because he is almost guaranteed a win on the road or a street course.

Then, you can expect him to race at the Roval very well. Meaning, if he is able to get to the Round of 12, he can likely get to the Round of 8 through Charlotte alone. Based on their relationship with each other, I’d expect Trackhouse to be SVG’s future home. However, he’ll have every team out there vying for his services in 2024.

Justin Marks has created something wild over the last few years. Retaining Ross Chastain from Chip Ganassi Racing turned out to be the best move they could make. That is, until they brought van Gisbergen to Chicago.
