Joey Logano breaks silence on Dale Earnhardt Jr. calling him 'an insurance salesman' in NASCAR-Netflix docu-series
Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

Netflix released “NASCAR: Full Speed”, a documentary series about the premier stock car racing series on January. The series was a hit and it was able to attract significant interest from fans into the sport with it’s less dramatic and more accurate depiction of the racing championship. NASCAR Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr. was one of the executive producers of the show and had some hilarious moments in the show.

One such moment was him calling two times NASCAR Cup champion Joey Logano an insurance salesman. Dale Earnhardt Jr., while talking about the Team Penske drivers’ impressive ability to switch back and forth between his racer personality in weekends and family man personality on week days. He pointed out that when he is not racing no one can’t be blamed if they mistake him for an insurance salesman.

Joey Logano ahead of the Bristol Motor Speedway Cup race hilariously confronted Junior about his remarks. The Hall of Famer revealed via his podcast, Dale Jr. Download that he and Logano had a laugh about the comments.

I saw him the other day, and walked to him and said, ‘Hey, I got a problem with you.’ He’s l ike, ‘What?’ I’m like, ‘Really? Like,. an Insurance salesman? That’s what you think I look like?’ Because he said that in the Netflix show and I was like, ‘Come on. Man!

Junior recalled the incident via Dale Jr. Download.

Joey Logano hilariously admitted that he can be a good insurance salesman

Logano, while further talking to Junior, flexed about his prowess in sales. He claimed that he can be a good salesman but at the end of the day he is good at racing despite looking like a salesman. Junior also admitted that he reckons Logano can be a good salesman.

I mean I think I’d be a hell of a salesman, he’s probably not wrong, but I like to think I’m a better race car driver, but yeah. Sometimes you just can’t help the way you look! Logano said.

The 2024 season so far hasn’t been kind to Joey Logano and he is in desperately need of a momentum building race that gives a top-5 finish if not a win. Execution on the track as well as on the pit-road has been an issue for him and the Penske driver has to use his vast experience and get over the hiccups.
