Elon Musk accepts offer to train with UFC legend for Mark Zuckerberg fight

UFC president Dana White appears hell-bent on making an Elon Musk vs. Mark Zuckerberg fight happen inside the octagon.

If the fight actually does happen, the Twitter owner and CEO may just have a UFC legend in his corner after former welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre offered to train Musk for the mega fight—a proposal Musk jumped all over.

While many doubt the social media moguls will actually fight one another, White was adamant last week that both are “dead serious” about making the fight happen.

“This would be the biggest fight ever, in the history of the world — bigger than anything that’s ever been done,” White told TMZ. “It would break all pay-per-view records. These guys would raise hundreds of millions of dollars for charity. You don’t have to be a fight fan to be interested in this fight; everybody would want to see it.”

St. Pierre is widely considered the greatest welterweight fighter in UFC history and one of the top pound-for-pound fighters in mixed martial arts history. He retired on a 13-fight win streak in 2017 after beating Michael Bisping for the UFC middleweight title. He had a 26-2 record.

The UFC Hall of Famer holds several UFC records including the most title fights (14), most championship wins (12) and most consecutive title defenses (nine) in welterweight history, the second-most wins in welterweight history (19) and the third-most consecutive wins in welterweight title fights (nine). He also became the fourth of seven fighters to win titles in two weight classes.

In addition to St. Pierre, Musk had some others offer their training services as well including Jake Shields and Jason “Mayhem” Miller, both of whom are grappling specialists and former UFC fighters.

While St. Pierre’s resume is impressive, so is the list of fighters who have offered to train Zuckerberg which includes UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones and former UFC two-division champion Henry Cejudo, who recently stated he thinks Zuckerberg would be the one to get his hand raised.
