The French fighter is also a Muay Thai specialist, earning the AFMT National Title at +91 kg. He had one successful title defense before conceding the title. With that Lewis fight at UFC 265, he’s also earned “Performance of the Night,” a distinction he’d earn two more times.

He was also the winner of “Fight of the Night” with Tai Tuivasa at UFC Fight Night 209. “Bon Gamin” is a terrific performer, capable of stealing the show with his potent strikes. It’s no wonder he’s risen up the rankings, going as high as #2 in the heavyweight division.

Will Ciryl Gane Get Another Title Shot?

One thing Ciryl Gane must work on is his grappling defense. In his fight against Francis Ngannou (17-3) at UFC 270, “Bon Gamin” controlled the first two rounds, leaving Ngannou off-balance. But Ngannou switched to a wrestling style on Gane, wearing him down later in the match. As a result, he lost via unanimous decision.

Against Jon Jones (27-1) at UFC 285, Gane lost in the first round via guillotine choke submission. If Gane can defend against grapples and takedowns better, he can become the UFC Heavyweight Champion for good. It’s good that he sits at #2 in the division because he’s rapidly rising in the rankings.
