White Sox vs. Royals Postponed, Doubleheader Set for Wednesday

The Chicago White Sox and Kansas City Royals will have to wait a day to continue their three-game series. Tuesday's game has been postponed due to rain and will be made up as part of a straight doubleheader beginning Wednesday at 1:10 PM CT. The second game will begin approximately 30-45 minutes after the first contest ends.

For those planning to attend the doubleheader, the White Sox will honor tickets, parking passes, and Huntington Bank Stadium Club passes for the originally scheduled Wednesday game (April 17, 1:10 PM CT).

Those with tickets for Tuesday's game (April 16) will receive credits or a refund. Season ticket holders, individual suite holders, and patio ticket holders will receive a credit to their account. Refunds for all other purchases, i.e. Ticketmaster, SeatGeek, and Stubhub, should be initiated at the point of purchase.

As for the on-field ramifications, White Sox pitcher Jonathan Cannon was scheduled to make his MLB debut on Tuesday. He's already been added to Chicago's roster, so it seems likely he'll start one of the games. Erick Fedde was originally penciled in to start Wednesday's 1:10 PM CT game.

Additionally, both clubs will be allowed to recall a 27th player for the day of the doubleheader, per MLB rules. If the White Sox need extra pitching, they could elect to recall lefty Jared Shuster, who was optioned to Triple-A Charlotte to make room for Cannon.
