Two-time World Series champion Mookie Betts tops list of most popular MLB jerseys

Mookie Betts has two World Series rings, five Gold Gloves and one MVP, among various other accolades. Now he has Major League Baseball's top-selling jersey.

MLB released its list of the most popular jerseys entering Opening Day on Wednesday and Betts, unsurprisingly, ranked No. 1.

Betts is considered one of the best players in baseball and is arguably the second-best player behind Los Angeles Angels star Mike Trout. The 28-year-old played a vital role in the Dodgers' 2020 World Series run and has consistently played at a high level on both offense and defense.

Betts owned the most popular jersey in 2020, which was the first time in his career with MLB's No. 1 jersey. He is also the only player to rank among the top five most popular jerseys in both the National League and American League since MLB started issuing jersey rankings.

Betts' teammate, Cody Bellinger, came in second on the list, while San Diego Padres shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. came in third. There are four Dodgers on the list (Betts, Bellinger, Clayton Kershaw and Corey Seager) and a former Dodger (Enrique Hernandez).
