This Babe Ruth Rookie Card is Expected to Sell For An Insane Amount of Money

Ruth did sign his first professional contract with the Orioles in 1914, but the O's were just a minor league team at the time. He was sold to the Red Sox and debuted with them in that same year, marking his first appearance in the major leagues.

From there, everything was history. One of the best players to ever play the game - and the most famous - Ruth spent 22 years in the big leagues with the Red Sox, Yankees and Boston Braves. One of the most prodigious hitters in baseball history, he hit 714 home runs and owned a lifetime batting average of .342. 

He also had 2,214 career RBI and was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1936. He led the league in homers 12 times, RBI five times and walks 11 times.

He was a two-time All-Star, a seven-time World Series champion, an MVP and a batting champion. In addition to his hitting prowess, he was also an accomplished pitcher, winning an ERA title in 1916. He also won more than 20 games in two different seasons.

Though it's expected to net more than $10 million, the goal is to have this card sell for more than $12 million, as referenced in the clip above.
