Should the Angels Trade Mickey Moniak to Free Up OF Room?
USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Angels have used their offseason so far to build out a more well-balanced roster. They've added to their bullpen and brought in some minor additions around the edges.

The front office is determined to remain competitive next season, and they believe they can break their long playoff drought. The winter is far from over for the Halos, but they may need to make a move or two to free up playing time for guys.

After their signing of veteran outfielder Aaron Hicks, the Angels have five outfielders on their roster. They may need to move one of them, and the one that sticks out for value could be Mickey Moniak.

Moniak is coming off his best season as a professional, which could net the Halos some needed assets back. He is also under contract through the 2027 season, giving whichever team that trades for him some club control.

The former first-round pick showed that he belongs in the big leagues last season. He hit .280 with 14 home runs and 45 runs batted in over 85 games for the Angels.

The Angels could still go with the crowded outfield room, but it makes sense for them to move someone. Moniak's value is high right now, and the Halos should take advantage of it.
