After finishing an underwhelming 86-76 and in third place in the AL West during the 2021 MLB season, the Oakland Athletics may be looking to shake things up on their roster.
A’s are willing to listen to trade inquiries on their veterans, including pitching stars Chris Bassitt, Frankie Montas and Sean Manaea. Should be huge interest.

While 2021 was the first time that the A's failed to make the postseason in four years, they haven't made it past the divisional series since 2006 and haven't made a World Series appearance since the last of their three-straight pennants in 1990. Meanwhile, the division-rival Houston Astros have grabbed four of the last five AL West titles, made the World Series in three of the past five years, and won it all in 2017.
Just because the Athletics would be willing to listen to offers for Bassitt, Manaea and Montas, doesn't necessarily mean they are looking to move them. After all, the trio were arguably the best starting pitchers that the team boasted in 2021.
Montas had a team-high 13 wins, 207 strikeouts and 187 innings pitched, to go with a solid 3.37 ERA and 1.18 WHIP. Bassitt finished the year 12-4 with a team-best 3.15 ERA and 1.05 WHIP that led all starters, while Manaea went 11-10 with a 3.91 ERA and 1.22 WHIP.
