Reds pitcher Hunter Greene is a finalist for the Lou Gehrig Memorial Award.
The award is given to a Major League Baseball player to honor his who best exhibits the character and integrity of Lou Gehrig both on and off the field. The award was created to acknowledge a player’s eye-catching commitment to both his community and philanthropy.
“I think that’s the most exciting part about being in this position and being a professional athlete is the impact you can have on others,” Greene stated according to MLB.com.
