Cincinnati Reds third baseman Brandon Drury has drawn plenty of attention from other ball clubs as the MLB trade deadline has drawn closer. But according to The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal, Cincy may be interested in keeping the infielder after all and signing him to an extension.

Rosenthal added that the Reds could also trade Drury now and re-sign him as a free agent in 2023, although that scenario is more of a stretch.
Interest in Drury has skyrocketed thanks to his impressive 2022 campaign. In fact, the Oregon native is having the best season of his career, slashing .275/.336/.523 with 20 home runs, 59 RBI, and 62 runs scored on 95 hits.
Drury was the hero in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Baltimore Orioles when he hit a late-game home run to put his team in the win column. It was potentially Drury's last home game with the Reds, but told the media afterward that the only thing he could control was whether or not he played baseball -- not where he played.
Brandon Drury on his trade rumors: “It’s definitely on my mind a little bit, but at the end of the day, whether I’m here or somewhere else, I get to keep playing baseball. That’s all I can control.”
