Pirates place LHP Ryan Borucki (triceps) on 15-day injured list
Jeffrey Becker-USA TODAY Sports

The Pittsburgh Pirates placed left-hander Ryan Borucki on the 15-day injured list on Sunday because of left triceps inflammation.

In a corresponding move, the Pirates recalled left-hander Jose Hernandez from Triple-A Indianapolis and activated him for Sunday's game against the Baltimore Orioles.

Borucki, whose move to the IL is retroactive to Saturday, has four relief appearances this season. The 30-year-old has a 5.40 ERA after allowing four hits, two runs and no walks with six strikeouts in 3 1/3 innings.

Hernandez, 26, was with Pittsburgh from March 28-31, throwing two scoreless innings in two games and recording his first major league career save on March 28 against the Miami Marlins.

Infielder-outfielder Ji Hwan Bae, on the 10-day IL since March 28 (retroactive to March 25) with a left hip muscle strain, is slated to start a rehabilitation assignment Sunday with Single-A Bradenton.

Bae, 24, missed most of spring training because of the injury.
