MLB home run props for 4/25: This price on a Juan Soto HR? Sign us up

We were unable to cash home run props on back-to-back days, but we're feeling good about our chances on Thursday. Let's break down our three favorite home run bets for the shortened MLB slate.

Teoscar Hernandez (+420 FanDuel)

Dodgers vs. Nationals, 4:05 p.m. ET

Mookie Betts and Shohei Ohtani have been the best hitters for the Los Angeles Dodgers this season, but Teoscar Hernandez isn't far behind. The outfielder is batting .255 with a .789 OPS and five home runs through 26 games. He also leads the team with two home runs and seven RBIs against left-handed pitching this year. Washington Nationals lefty MacKenzie Gore doesn't give up a ton of long balls, but we like this price on a capable power hitter.

Joey Gallo (+480 FanDuel)

Dodgers vs. Nationals, 4:05 p.m ET

Let's stick with the same game for our second selection. Dodgers starter Yoshinobu Yamamoto has lights-out stuff, but he also leaves too many pitches in the middle of the zone. The right-hander is giving up the highest hard-hit rate and the second-highest barrel rate in MLB among qualified pitchers. When he makes mistakes, opposing hitters are able to make him pay, and that's exactly what Joey Gallo excels at. Gallo ranks third in MLB in barrel rate, so all we need is one meatball from Yamamoto. 

Juan Soto (+500 FanDuel)

Yankees vs. Athletics, 7:05 p.m. ET

We weren't expecting to see this high of a price on Juan Soto. The New York Yankees slugger leads the team with six home runs and a .564 slugging percentage this season, yet there are three players above him on the home run odds board. He's likely +500 because left-hander Alex Wood will be on the mound for the Oakland Athletics, but Soto actually leads the Yankees in home runs (two), batting average (.323) and OPS (.953) against lefties this year. He also already has two home runs in 15 career at-bats against Wood.
