It was a pretty brutal week for the Blue Jays affiliates.

On Sunday, the affiliates lost three of four games, with the only saving grace being the Buffalo Bisons’ win against the Columbus Clippers.

Let’s start with that win.

Orelvis Martinez hits another home run

It’s safe to say that Orelvis Martinez is the King of Columbus, as he hit his fifth home run of the series and his sixth home run of the season on Sunday.

On top of that, he hit a single which extended his hit streak to 15 games now, with a hit in 17 of 18 games. Addison Barger hit a home run for the second straight game, while Leo Jimenez and Luis De Los Santos each hit their first home run of the season.

In terms of doubles, Cam Eden and Spencer Horwitz each had two doubles, while Nathan Lukes and Barger each had one. Horwitz had a four-hit game and drove in three runs, while Barger, Eden, Lukes and Payton Henry had multi-hit games. Damiano Palmegiani went 1-6, and finished with a single.

Andrew Bash started the game and finished with a line of 4 IP, 3 H, 3 ER, 2 BB, 4 K with a home run given up, while Luis Quiñones picked up the win giving up an earned run, walking three and striking out three in his 2.1 innings of work.

Brendon Little picked up a hold, finishing with a line of 0.2 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 1 K, while Hayden Juenger pitched an innings giving up a walk and striking out a batter. Andrew Bechtold finished the game on the mound, striking out one batter but allowing two free-passes and a hit.

New Hampshire on a five-game losing streak

After a promising start to the season, the Fisher Cats’8-5 loss on Sunday meant that their record dropped to 7-8, third in the Eastern League Northeast.

The team finished with just five hits, with Devonte Brown hitting the only extra-base hit, a double. Phil Clarke finished with the only multi-hit game, while Josh Kasevich and Glenn Santiago. Moreover, Alan Roden walked twice, with Kasevich, Clarke, Brown, and Michael Turconi all walking once.

Trent Palmer started the game and went 2 IP, 2 H, 4 ER, 3 BB, 0 K, not a great start.Eric Pardinho came in for relief, and finished with a line of 1 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 2 K. Starter CJ Van Eyk also appeared in this game, and finished with a line of 3 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 3 K, with left-handed reliever Ian Churchill giving up an earned run, two walks, and striking out the side in his inning of work. Jimmy Burnette gave up a hit, but pitched a clean inning aside from that.

Vancouver falls in a low scoring game

The Canadians lost 2-1 in a low event game to the Eugene Emeralds, bringing their record to 7-8, the same as the Fisher Cats.

Pat Gallagher had a good start, finishing with a line of 5.1 IP, 6 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 4 K to bring his season ERA to 3.72. Rafael Ohashi still hasn’t given up an earned run, pitching two thirds of an inning in this game and giving up a single. Josh Mollerus was tagged with the loss, finishing with a line of 1.2 IP, 1 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 2 K, but it was Chay Yeager who gave up the eventual game-winning double in his third of an inning.

Dasan Brown and Estiven Machado both had a double, while Jackson Hornung , Brennan Orf , and Jaden Rudd all finished with one single.

Dunedin loses fourth-straight game

Had the Dunedin Blue Jays won this game, they would’ve moved into first in the Florida State League. However, they moved to 9-6 while the Clearwater Threshers moved to 10-5, with the latter team winning 5-2.

Despite only two runs, the Blue Jays finished the day with 10 hits. Manuel Beltre hit one of three doubles, but finished the game with three hits. Yhoangel Aponte also had a double, and had a multi-hit game as well. Arjun Nimmala had the other double, while Edward Duran had the other multi-hit game. Picking up singles were Tucker Toman and Alexis Hernandez .

Landen Maroudis started the game for the D-Jays, and finished with a line of 2.1 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 3 K, but it wasn’t a game decision to take him out of the game, as he appeared to leave the game injured. More on that here, but that’s now three top pitching prospects for the Jays who were injured this month.

Jerry Huntzinger came in after Maroudis, and finished with a line of 1.1 IP, 1 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 0 K, while Aaron Munson pitched 1.1 innings and struck out two but walked a batter. It appears Irv Carter may be moving into a bulk reliever role, as he pitched in relief and finished with a one of 2 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 2 K.

Bo Bonds made his season debut, and finished with a line of 1 IP, 2 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 1 K, while Yondrei Rojas finished out the game, walking a batter and striking one out in his inning of work.
