Michael Harris II set to begin his rehab assignment today
Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

This should be music to the ears of Braves fans: Michael Harris will begin his rehab assignment in Gwinnett today.

Harris has missed the last few weeks with a back strain. Thankfully, Sam Hilliard has stepped up in a big way, but getting Harris back will give Brian Snitker a lot more flexibility with his lineups, as well as another All-Star caliber player. Hilliard should be able to serve as the primary left fielder, along with Eddie Rosario, and the days of Marcell Ozuna seeing much playing time will be over, if he isn’t released completely.

Given the minor severity of the injury Michael Harris suffered, I don’t see him participating in many rehab games. It’s very possible, even probable, that he’s on the road trip with the team to New York as the Braves play four games against the Mets this weekend.
