On Saturday, the Philadelphia Phillies advanced to the National League Championship Series for the first time since 2010 after eliminating the Atlanta Braves in the NLDS.
After a down September, which saw the Phillies barely hang on to the third wild-card spot in the NL, they've since stunned the St. Louis Cardinals and the defending World Series Champions in the postseason.
While the Phillies' remarkable run has Philly fans believing, it's also changed the opinion of a bitter rival.
Earlier this season, Mets' legend and current broadcaster Keith Hernandez said he hated calling games against Philadelphia, adding that "fundamentally, defensively, the Phillies have always been just not up to it."
Shortly after the Phillies punched their ticket to the NLCS, Hernandez took to Twitter and shared his revised thoughts about the team he roasted just a few months ago.
"This is not the same team I criticized earlier in the season," Hernandez Tweeted. "Kudos to Dave Dombrowski & Sam Fuld. They made great moves at the deadline. Kudos to Rob Thomson who connected with the players who have responded & performed. I'll be rooting for the Phillies the rest of the way."
Maybe Hernandez's change of heart came about because the Phillies knocked off the Braves, a hated NL East rival. Or, perhaps Hernandez is a big enough man to admit he was wrong.
Either way, the Phillies seemingly have a new member to add to the bandwagon.
