Kiké Hernández Reportedly May Prefer Return to Dodgers Over AL West Squad
USA TODAY Sports

Believe it or not, there are still a ton of top-notch free agents on the market. It seems your Los Angeles Dodgers have signed them all, and although you wouldn't be wrong, there are some players on the market L.A. could still use.

One of them still on the free agent market is a utility player Kiké Hernández. Hernández has yet to sign with a team this winter, and a reunion with the Boys in Blue could be in the cards. However, other teams would love to sign Hernández, like L.A.'s freeway rival, the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal reported the Halos are interested in signing Hernández, but he may prefer a return in Dodger blue.

The Angels continue to show interest in free agent Kiké Hernández, but fear he prefers a return to the Dodgers, according to a source briefed on the team’s discussions.

The Dodgers' freeway rivals desperately need infield help, and Hernández would certainly bolster that position. The Angels could use Hernández's defense, but so could the Dodgers.

In 54 games with the Dodgers in the back half of the 2023 season, Hernández slashed .262/.308/.423 with a  .731 OPS. All those numbers were a jump from the first half of the 2023 season with the Boston Red Sox.

Although a reunion may be in the cards, it's still uncertain whether L.A. would bring him back. He did enough for the team to consider Hernández again, but we'll see if it flourishes.

The 32-year-old may be heading to stay in Southern California, and that isn't a bad option at all.
