Julio Rodriguez Is Giving Back In A Must-See Way
Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

Being a major leaguer goes well beyond what happens on the field.

Major leaguers are those players who, because of their talent and perseverance, have left behind the complicated minor league life and reached the best baseball circuit in the world, with the improved financial prospects that it brings.

A small portion of baseball players in the world reach the majors, and an even smaller percentage are good enough to sign a multi-million deal at 21 years old.

Such is the case of Seattle Mariners outfielder Julio Rodriguez.

J-Rod, the reigning American League Rookie of the Year, signed a 12-year, $209.3 million contract extension with the Mariners this year, although the final number of years and money may vary depending on certain conditions and options.

He is extraordinarily talented, but Rodriguez is also lucky and blessed to be able to make life-changing money at such a young age.

He is making sure to give his hometown a helping hand now that he has the means.

“Mariners star Julio Rodriguez donates an ambulance to the Civil Defense of his hometown Loma de Cabrera, DR, and delivers toys,” MLB insider Hector Gomez tweeted.

Those kids who got toys from one of their heroes will certainly be grateful for life.

It’s important for MLB stars to give back some of what they have earned.

It’s good to see Rodriguez cares about his community and the town in which he was born.

We are sure this won’t be the last donation made by J-Rod to people in Loma de Cabrera.

He has a kind heart and a mean swing.

That’s a nice combination.
