Hilarious Tweet Trolls Joe Girardi After The Phillies Clinch
David Banks-USA TODAY Sports

The Philadelphia Phillies have ended the drought.

It had been since 2011 that the Phillies had reached the postseason, with their last postseason game being the one where Chris Carpenter shut them out and Ryan Howard tore his Achilles running to first base.

But now, the Phillies are back.

One of the key moments in the season was when the Phillies let manager Joe Girardi go and promoted bench coach Rob Thomson to the managerial position.

Since then, the Phillies have gone 65-44.

On Twitter, Starting 9, a Barstool Sports affiliate, made sure to troll Girardi after the Phils clinched their spot in the postseason.

Joe Girardi, Standing By

Girardi may have a little explaining to do after the Phils went on a tear following his dismissal.

This means he’ll be subject to some hilarious trolling for the next couple of days, or potentially even weeks, depending on how far the Phillies go this October.

The Phillies will match up against either the NL East runner up or the St. Louis Cardinals, the team that eliminated them when they last made it to October.

Obviously, they’ll be doing that without Girardi, who led them to a 22-29 record prior to being fired.

Thomson on the other hand, seems to have transformed the Phillies and turned them back into the team that everybody expected them to be prior to the start of the season.

Girardi obviously couldn’t get them to where they expected to be, but Thomson could.

This is what happens when you get fired and your team goes on a tear afterwards.

Trolling, trolling, and more trolling.

If the Phillies end up winning the World Series, then poor Girardi will never hear the end of it.
