GDB -17.0: Vladimir Guerrero Jr. remains out with minor knee contusion as Toronto Blue Jays take on Yankees
? Jesse Johnson-USA TODAY Sports

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is out for his second straight Spring Training game dealing with a minor contusion in his left knee.

It occurred during the Jays’ 13-5 thrashing of the Phillies on Saturday.

Jays manager John Schneider said Tuesday that Guerrero Jr. would do a “full day of working out and running around” at the complex today, according to MLB.com Keegan Matheson. Guerrero Jr. hasn’t been sent for an MRI on the knee, with Schneider adding, “There’s nothing new with him—just being cautious.”

The Jays will go with their “heavy” lineup today, as they continue to alternate players in and out of the lineup. George Springer, Bo Bichette, Justin Turne, Daulton Varsho and Alejandro Kirk will fill the top five spots in the order, while Kevin Kiermaier, Isiah Kiner-Falefa, Santiago Espinal and Spencer Horwitz round it out.

On the mound will be Jose Berrios, going opposite of the Yankees’ Dennis Santana.
