Freddie Freeman Trailing Only Lou Gehrig in Incredible All-Time Stat
USA TODAY Sports

Celebrating his 34th birthday at Chavez Ravine on Tuesday, LA first baseman Freddie Freeman's special day came with four hits in a clobbering of the San Diego Padres by a score of 11-2.

The main catalyst in the offensive engine against their divisional foe, Freeman joined another first base legend atop the leaderboard of birthday game domination.

Hitting his fourth all time home run on his birthday in the second game of three against the Friars, Freeman is celebrating another year in style with some great company alongside him.

In the middle of another impressive MVP level season, Freeman may have to concede the award to his own current superstar teammate in Mookie Betts as the front runner to that race.

Coming over from the Atlanta Braves for a six-year contract with Los Angeles, Freeman has found the confines of Dodger Stadium to be quite the upgrade compared to his old stomping grounds in Georgia.

That's not to say that Atlanta hasn't done an amazing job at replacing his production as his former teammate in Ronald Acuña Jr. will likely be the winner of the award as baseball's first ever 40 homer and 70 stolen base club member.

Without the services of Freeman at first, the Braves simply traded for Matt Olson and subsequently extended him to an eight=year contract in a deal that's more than paid off after the new Atlanta first baseman has slugged 51 home runs to pace MLB this season.

Though Freddie may miss Atlanta and vice versa, it seems as if both team and player are happy about their spot in their careers after the dust has settled.

Pacing the league in doubles and adding another two-bagger to his total on Tuesday night, Freeman's home run he added on top of two singles capped off a perfect birthday and Dodger win.

However, another NL MVP award won't be important to Freeman this season as the Dodgers will hope to avenge their 2022 season by finishing the job in 2023.
