Don't Worry, Seattle Mariners' Fans: Jarred Kelenic's Mom Did What He Failed to Do
USA TODAY Sports

On Monday, now-former Seattle Mariners ' outfielder Jarred Kelenic made some headlines for some spicy reasons.

Kelenic, the former top prospect, was traded by the Mariners to the Atlanta Braves on Sunday night. On Monday, he fashioned a lengthy social media post thanking Mariners' fans and his teammates - but he omitted the organization as a whole.

We wrote about it, and Talkin' Baseball posted about it too:

While that's certainly notable, and Kelenic's frustrations with the organization have been chronicled, have no fear: His mom stepped up to the plate and thanked the organization on social media.

The Kelenic family sends a heartfelt thank you to the @Mariners organization, the Mariner fans, and to all the dedicated people we’ve met along this journey - @RainiersLand@ARTravs. You all welcomed us with each stop & helped in creating lifetime memories

A classy move from his mother, for sure. To be honest, I don't have a huge problem with Kelenic not mentioning the organization. He was acquired to be a face of the franchise and then was shipped out of town, I'd feel hurt too.

Would it have been nice if he did it? Yes. Do I think it was required? No.

But again, have no fear, Mama knows best and her words at least prove that someone in the Kelenic Crew appreciated the time in the Emerald City.

Now, Kelenic heads off to Atlanta where he will get a chance to compete for a left field job alongside Vaughn Grissom. The two could potentially form a left-right platoon.
