Dodgers Sign Former NL West Right-Hander to Minor League Deal

The Los Angeles Dodgers continue to make moves on the minor league side of things. The Athletic's Fabian Ardaya reports Los Angeles has signed right-handed pitcher Jesse Hahn to a minor league deal. The deal also includes an invitation to big league spring training, per Ardaya.

Hahn spent one year with the San Diego Padres in 2014 before joining the Oakland Athletics the following season. He then was with the Kansas City Royals from 2019 to 2021, and hasn't appeared in a professional game since then.

Hahn has a 19-21 record in his seven-year career with a 4.22 ERA, 241 strikeouts, and a 1.34 WHIP. He has allowed 296 hits in 311.1 innings pitched and 82 games. The righty pitcher started his career as a starter but ended up switching to a relief pitcher in 2019 with the Royals.

Hahn suffered a right shoulder impingement in 2021 and was placed on the 60-day injured list. He became a free agent after the 2021 season and hasn't pitched at any level since then.

The Dodgers decided to take a chance at him, which should be no surprise for those familiar with this team and their reclamation projects over the past years. The Dodgers are no stranger to these reclamation projects, and at 34 years old, Hahn will hope to have a career revitalization in Los Angeles.
