Diamondbacks swept by the Dodgers in shutout
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Similar to last night, the Diamondbacks looked outmatched in every metric in their 7-0 shutout loss to the Dodgers.

The Diamondbacks ended the series suffering a sweep; in total, they were outscored 24–5.

Lourdes Gurriel Jr. and Buddy Kennedy accounted for four of the Diamondbacks six hits. Unfortunately, it was a rough night at the plate with runners in scoring position, as they went 0-7.

Meanwhile, rookie starter Brandon Pfaadt was pushed out of the game early after allowing multiple two-run homers in the third inning.

With just one game remaining this month, the Dodgers continue to cruise through August with the league’s best 23-6 record.

Unfortunately for the Diamondbacks, after wrapping up a three-game series against the best team in the National League, they will now face the best team in the American League, the Baltimore Orioles.

This series will start Friday with the first pitch at 6:40.
