Cubs Pitcher Adbert Alzolay Sharp in First Outing With Iowa
USA TODAY Sports

The Chicago Cubs got a very welcome sight on Saturday when Adbert Alzolay made his second rehab appearance of the season and first with Triple-A Iowa. After a shaky start, Alzolay locked in for a dominant outing.

Alzolay allowed a hit, a walk, and another walk and balked in a run all before getting an out, but the righty struck out the next three batters to escape the jam. The 27-year-old would get one more inning of work, striking out the side in the second to end his day at two innings pitches, recording all of his outs via punchout.

The former top prospect is likely to make it back to the majors assuming the rest of his rehab goes well, and whether or not it's as a starter or a reliever, it'll be nice to have him back in the fold.
