Colorado Rockies Broadcast Makes Ironic Mistake in Graphic Regarding Yankees' Domingo German

New York Yankees pitcher Domingo German threw a perfect game on Wednesday night against the Oakland Athletics. It was the first perfect game in baseball since 2012 and only the 24th in history of the game.

Well, naturally, broadcast teams around baseball were talking about the accomplishment on their broadcasts on Thursday.

Unfortunately, the Colorado Rockies broadcast team on television made an unfortunate and ironic mistake in their coverage.

The broadcast team put up a graphic in which they discussed the perfect game, only to spell "perfect" wrong in that graphic.

Patrick Lyons, who covers the Rockies, put out the picture on social media.

Now, we don't want to make fun of a spelling mistake by someone back in the truck too much, because mistakes do happen. It's just ironic that when discussing a "perfect" game that the graphic wasn't perfect. It was spelled right on multiple occasions by the way, just not on all of them.

What also wasn't perfect was the Rockies play on Thursday night. They were beaten by the Los Angeles Dodgers, 14-3, and are now just 32-51 on the season. The Rockies officially have the worst record in the National League, trailing the Washington Nationals (32-48) by 1.5 games second-worst.

Colorado is 16.5 games out of first place in the National League West. They'll host the Detroit Tigers for a series at Coors Field this weekend. Game one of the series is Friday night at 8:10 p.m. ET as Austin Gomber (5-7, 7.01 ERA) pitches against Tigers pitcher Michael Lorenzen.
